Commonwealth Games Baton Relay Buxton 11722
Great to welcome the @birminghamcg22 Queen’s Baton Relay to Buxton’s Pavilion Garden’s last night.
After completing a tour of the Commonwealth, it’s now cris-crossing England as it heads to Birmingham for the opening ceremony on Thursday 28th July.
The Queen’s Baton Relay’s visit to Buxton featured five baton bearers who have all made an outstanding contribution to their local communities.
Our local baton bearers included local PC Geoff Marshall for his work at Toddbrook, charity fundraisers, teachers and instructors, and an inspiring 82-year-old regular hockey player and teacher, Ben from Buxton.
I hope all in attendance, especially our Baton Bearers had a great evening.
